Esther Hicks channels these teachings in Ask And It Is Given from an entity known as "Abraham". Whatever your belief about channeled wisdom, one cannot discount the powerful healing words in this book!
The focus of this book is that we basically don't know what to ask for or how. There are many examples of how to work with intentions and the Law of Attraction with clear examples to follow.
This book will surely get you thinking about your life and the control that you really have of the world around you!
This is another book I would recommend for the serious student of intention and the Law of Attraction! - M.B.

The Power of Intention, by Wayne Dyer, introduces us to the incorporation of intention into our everyday lives. Waye, himself, lives a life based on intention, so it was natural for him to write this book.
Think of this as a guidebook for life using the intention process!
Wayne Dyer has published many boooks over the years, and this one shows the evolution of his maturity with the intention process. This is probably one of the best books you can read about intention! - M.B.

The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne, takes us on a journey through history to several prominent figures and how they discovered and used the Law of Attraction.
I consider this a good introduction and has defintely prompted many to seek out more information about the Law of Attraction and the Intention process.
Not as deep as I would like, this book will still give you something to think about. And perhaps some tools to allow you to alter your life! - M.B.

The Science Behind the Secret, by Travis S. Taylor, Ph.D.
Travis Taylor is a scientist with an interest in the world of quantum physics. This book is his attempt to describe the relationship of the Law of Attraction to quantum physics.
In the first third of the book, the author discusses the law of attraction throughout history, stopping to point out landmarks that he feels are important to know. Beginning roughly 4000 years ago, he mentions Jainism, which started in India, and the principles in that belief system which seem to support the idea that "you are what you think".
From there he takes us on a timeline touching Egyptian, Indian, Greek, Roman, Asian and European cultures along the way to the current time. Within each of these cultures he discusses key individuals who described the law of attraction in their own spiritual, philosophical and scientific languages.
In the next part of the book, Travis does his best to describe quantum theory, waves and particles to us in laymen terms. This is a tough task, and, at times, I found my mind wandering. However, he does a good job keeping us focused and on track. And, he is giving us the background we need to understand the next section of the book which relates our efforts to do intentions to the movement of quantum energy.
Finally, we hear how "qwiff's" (or quantum wave functions) move and interact with each other, coming together to manifest an intention equal to or better that what we asked for. For me, this was the real meat of the book.
Is this book a complete discussion of quantum physics? No. I also believe that I don't need much more to begin to see the relationship of intentions with quantum physics. Already, I am imagining how these objects intertwine to manifest what I want.
One thing I wish that Travis had done more of. He often defers to the movie "The Secret" to answer specific questions about "how do I do this or that?" as if the movie was an authority on the topic. The reality is that the movie drew from some of the same resources that Travis mentions. So I would rather hear what his personal approach is to some of these questions instead of what they say in "The Secret".
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It got me thinking some pretty deep thoughts about the intention and manifestation process. And another language that I can use to explain the process to people who ask.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in knowing more about the intention process and how we are beginning to understand it in our scientific context! - M.B |

Having read Richard Bartlett's first book Matrix Energetics: The Science and Art of Transformation and enjoying it greatly, I was a fairly easy sell on his second book. The Physics of Miracles: Tapping in to the Field of Consciousness Potential is a much longer volume than his first offering, with enticing chapter titles such as 'ManyWorlds Theory and You,' and 'Solving the Mystery of Levitation.'
The writing is more rich and dense than his first book and probably would be difficult to digest without some previous exposure to Matrix Energetics concepts. Regardless, the ideas the book puts forth are exciting and mind-expanding.
Matrix Energetics seems to be very much about holding an intention to do what's highest and best, seeing what your intuition gives you within that field, and then honoring and acting upon your own impressions as best you can. Matrix Energetics is about expecting miracles.
Bartlett writes, "Awareness, filtered through the medium of your beliefs, generates your experience... Your beliefs about reality and your life can enslave you to the kinds of experiences you are likely to have."
I recommend reading both of Richard Bartlett's books and working with the concepts. If you are brand-new to Matrix Energetics, start with his first book. Read (and play) with an open mind. Who knows... you might start manifesting miracles! - D.P |
